NATIONAL MUSEUM OF QATAR

As part of the opening of the Qatar National Museum, Quintessence Paris had the honor of creating an exceptional corporate gift, designed to capture both the spirit of the museum and its deep connection to the architectural vision.

The shape of the candle was inspired by the iconic architecture of the Qatar National Museum, itself modeled after the desert rose—a majestic natural rock formation formed by the crystallization of gypsum and mineral-rich sand. A true architectural masterpiece, the designed by Jean Nouvel embodies the serenity of the desert, modernity, and boldness. Commissioned by the agency Luxury Makers for the museum’s grand opening, the project was an ambitious and symbolic endeavor: to create a candle molded directly from an actual desert rose. This intricate shape was faithfully reproduced in wax. The fragrance reflects this idea of crystallization, built around a central rose accord. A fresh burst of peony opens the composition, followed by a warmer, more indulgent heart of rose, saffron, and oud, adding both depth and an oriental elegance. We also designed a custom box, serving as both an elegant gift presentation and display case, allowing guests to take home a refined object that celebrates the candle as a true centerpiece. This gift is a genuine tribute to nature, architecture, and the cultural richness of Qatar.
