Quintessence Paris has developed soft and warm candles which imitate the smell of the iconic desserts, inspired by the iconic pastries of the Ritz Le Comptoir’s François Perret, the Best Restaurant Pastry Chef in the World of 2019.

We created two custom-tailored fragrances, each directly inspired by Chef François Perret’s iconic desserts.The candle vessel was custom-designed with a porcelain-effect lacquer and the logo silk-screened directly onto the surface. It’s finished with a zamak lid ("capot") for a touch of refinement and metallic accent. Each candle is presented in a round, hatbox-style package, featuring four-color printing, while the vessel showcases single-color silk-screening—details that echo the elegance of the Ritz and the visual identity of its pâtisserie, of which we drew the inspiration. The entire graphic direction adheres closely to the Ritz brand guidelines, ensuring cohesion with the institution’s timeless aesthetic. The first candle, Madeleine, reveals a warm, indulgent scent built around tonka bean with roasted, almondy notes, layered with buttery, powdery vanilla, and enriched by the deep sweetness of chestnut honey. The second, Marble cake, captures the comforting aroma of a freshly-baked pastry, combining a brioche-like, mouth-watering accord with a richness of toasted vanilla. To ensure absolute fidelity to the exact scents the chef provided us with the original madeleine and marble cake as reference materials for olfactory translation.
